About the Play

The year is now...ish. Kai, Ian and Jasper are postgrads living in a small L.A. apartment. Their friends Alex and Raven live in the same complex, and this "five-man band" is thirty, flirty and thriving. Everything is great for this tight knit group until Jasper moves up in the world, and into an expensive apartment downtown. This leaves Kai and Ian in a bind, and since postgrads are... well... poor, they need to find a roommate. Just in the knick of time the perfect roommate is served up, but his weird behaviors leave Kai feeling uneasy. Will this newcomer be the end of the group? Will the pretty girl who just moved in next door tear the boys apart? Will they all hug it out like they're one big happy family? Unlikely. Come see the play that has been dubbed "FRIENDS, but on crack" and find out how it all ends.

About the Author

Jarrod Maas or J.S. Maas is an American author who has only released this play. He's written a lot of other stuff too, but he's insecure, so right now TROPES is all you get.

He has had many friends over the years and some left, some stayed but he couldn't have written TROPES without them.

Jarrod S. Maas is the writer and director of the show. He shortens his name to J.S. because "Maas" is already difficult for people to spell, and adding "Jarrod" is a recipe for disaster. He wanted to find a nice and professional photo but decided this one would do for now. The show is not about him anyway, so stop reading this! Go back and look at the amazing cast that brought this show to life!
